An Enjoyable Afternoon at The Alhambra
March 19 brought the Jags Boosters a fun event at the Alhambra Theater and Dining. The Booster Club group occupied several tables for the matinee performance of Big River.
We put our cheering skills to work when our name was announced before the curtain rose, and we got a round of applause from the crowd.
The musical telling of some of Huck Finn’s story was well done, especially the singing voices. As always, the Alhambra did a masterful job of stage setting and casting, especially the two leads.
Long gone is the buffet, a staple for over 40 years at the Alhambra, replaced by a menu and table service.
The menu included Deep South favorites like Fried Green Tomatoes, Grits, Fried Catfish and Chicken and Mississippi Mud Pie, all prepared with a gourmet touch by Executive Chef, DeJuan Roy.
Due to popular demand, a return visit may be in the offing next spring.
